“I arrived at the Edith Nourse Rogers hospital in 2019 in a sorry state of mind. The furthest thing was money, for me it was about the benefits, the healthcare and shelter. I had been a homeless veteran for about 18 years. I filled out the application to be service connected. The application kept getting denied. Mainly because I didn’t serve in wartime.
