VA SERVICE-CONNECTED DISABILITY COMPENSATION

PACT Act

The Sergeant First Class Heath Robinson Honoring our Promise to Address Comprehensive Toxics (PACT) Act, was signed into law in August 2022. This Act expanded eligibility for VA health care for veterans with toxic exposure, as well as for Vietnam, Gulf War, and post 9/11 veterans. The PACT Act also added over 20 presumptive conditions for burn pits, Agent Orange, radiation, and other toxic exposures, and expanded the presumptive-exposure locations for Agent Orange and radiation. To successfully establish service connection for a condition under the PACT Act, you will still need to show you have a current diagnosis of a presumptive condition, and that you served in a presumptive-exposure location.
