VA SERVICE-CONNECTED DISABILITY COMPENSATION

Camp Lejeune Water Contamination

VA recognizes presumptive exposure to toxins, stemming from served-time at Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune, or Marine Corps Air Station (MCAS) New River, North Carolina. If you served at one or both of these locations for at least 30 cumulative days between August 1, 1953, and December 31, 1987, you may have been exposed to chemicals found in the drinking water. The presumptive conditions from this exposure include: adult leukemia; aplastic anemia; bladder cancer; kidney cancer; liver cancer; multiple myeloma; non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma; and Parkinson’s disease.
